Biomedical Alliance Europe warns of potential medical device shortage

According to the organization, the EU must act now to prevent a future lack of medical equipment due to last year’s well-intentioned yet poorly implemented medical device regulation.

Member states of the EU should take ”urgent measures” to combat an imminent problem concerning a shortage of medical equipment in Europe due to a lack of approvals for the market, according to the Biomedical Alliance in Europe, an umbrella organization for 36 industry organizations.
