Denmark's largest companies report huge expansions to legal departments

Many of Denmark's biggest companies have more than doubled the number of people employed in their legal departments over the past five years. One company has six times as many legal staff employed internationally as it did in 2015, and is not getting as much external help, its legal director states.

Målet er fremover at kunne løse endnu flere opgaver internt i Demants juridiske afdeling, men der vil fortsat være behov for specialiseret rådgivning og ekstern hjælp ved længerevarende sager, fortæller juridisk direktør Pelle Munk-Poulsen. | Photo: Demant / PR

Over the past five years, Danish companies have recruited more legal advisors, a survey of C25 companies conducted by MedWatch's sister media AdvokatWatch shows.

This includes Demant, which has employed 25 new legal staff since 2015. Its legal department now totals 30 people internationally, of which 12 are based in Denmark.
