WHO recommends world's first malaria vaccine for children

A breakthrough malaria vaccine could save tens of thousands of lives, says the head of WHO.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends the use of the world’s only approved malaria vaccine for children in Africa, the organization announced on Wednesday.

”Today, WHO is recommending the broad use of the world’s first malaria vaccine,” Director General at WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a press conference.
