However, only a small part of the company’s business is located in Israel.

The outbreak of violent conflict with Hamas has naturally had an impact on Demant’s business in Israel.

The Danish company has a retail and a wholesale business in Israel in the area of hearing aids and a business for diagnostic instruments, and with rocket attacks in both directions, the activity has decreased significantly, says Søren Nielsen, CEO at Demant.

”When these kinds of unfortunate things happen, a society starts to concentrate on something else. We can obviously see in our business in Israel, which is a very small part of our overall business, that there has been a terrible development in the security situation and people’s desire to go out,” he says in an interview with MarketWire at this week’s audiology trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany.

Among Demant’s own employees, no one has been directly affected by the war, but everyone knows someone who has, says Nielsen.

”We give our employees the opportunity to be with their families and take care of their loved ones if needed. This will always be a high priority for us,” says the Demant CEO.
