Republican Senator Chuck Grassley and Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren have introduced a bill that would increase the pressure on the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to issue its final rule for the upcoming over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aid sales channel in the US, reports industry media Hearing Review.

The proposed legislation, dubbed Delivering Over-the-Counter Hearing Aids Now Act, would give the authority 30 days to provide the final guidelines after enactment, and follows the FDA’s OTC proposal from October 2021.
