EU health union established — expansion already planned

After about four years of proposals, negotiations and legislative work, the EU has created a common health union across Europe. But the work is far from over, says the Health Commissioner.

BRUSSELS - On the back of a pandemic, pharmaceutical reform, new crisis preparedness, a data room and a ”crystal clear” need for a common health policy, the EU Health Union has officially reached its goal, EU Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides concluded on Wednesday morning in Brussels.
