Danish life science foundations broke investment records in 2021

Some of Denmark’s most powerful funds, many of which have links to the pharmaceutical industry, broke one record after another in 2021. This provides opportunities, respective CEOs of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, William Demant Invest and the Lundbeck Foundation say.

After a historically strong 2021, some of Denmark’s most powerful funds have record capital at their disposal.

This success has been primarily driven by fantastic years for some of the country’s most prominent companies, including Novo Nordisk, A.P. Møller-Mærsk and Lego. This also means that the vast majorities of the funds’ resources are tied to shares in these companies.
