Novo Nordisk looks into repurposing millions of used insulin pens

In three months, Novo Nordisk has collected 14,000 used insulin pens. Now, it is investigating whether they can be reused.

Pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk is currently looking into the possibility of repurposing used insulin pens.

"We produce more than 700 million insulin pens annually for people with diabetes, and we're interested in ensuring they put as little strain on the environment as possible," says General Manager, Novo Nordisk Denmark & Iceland Kasper Bødker Mejlvang.
