EU Commission earmarks EUR 725m to secure critical production capacity

As a part of EU's new health authority, the Commission has set aside millions of euros to reserve the capacities of European manufacturers in times of need. The investment will create an "ever-warm" network of medical countermeasures.

When the EU is arming itself against future health crises in the coming years, it will be backed with millions of euros to ensure fast access to a critical production capacity in Europe.

According to a spokesperson for the EU Commission, the new Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA) will be granted EUR 120m (DKK 900m) annually, through a program called EU FAB.
