EU politicians plan to focus on Europe's obesity problem

A group of members of the European Parliament plans to do something about Europe's obesity problem, aiming to gain recognition of obesity as a chronic illness in EU member countries.

A group of EU politicians have joined forces in a new informal task force which will work towards obesity being recognized as as a chronic disease in the EU member countries.

The Danish Member of the European Parliament Pernille Weiss, who is a member of the conservative European People's Party (EPP) group, will lead the group.
