Over 200 websites shut down after selling fake weight loss products

Counterfeit versions of Novo Nordisk’s products have been sold in Belgium, the UK, Switzerland and the US, among other countries.

Last year, 279 websites selling counterfeit versions of popular weight loss and diabetes drugs drugs were shut down worldwide.

This is according to the Danish media outlet DR, based on information from cybersecurity company Brandshield, which protects major brands on the Internet. 

Counterfeit versions of Novo Nordisk’s Ozempic and Wegovy were sold in at least nine countries, including Belgium, the UK, Switzerland and the US.
