More countries back EU Commission investigation into potential Oticon Medical sale
Competition authorities in 13 countries have now asked the EU Commission to examine Demant’s potential sale of Oticon Medical to Cochlear.

The EU Commission’s competition department will investigate Demant’s sale of Oticon Medical to Australian company Cochlear after being urged to do so by Spanish authorities, which have since been backed by authorities in Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, and Sweden, states the Commission on Wednesday.
