Amplifon buys Bay Audio for DKK 2.6bn

The Italian firm is taking over the large Australian hearing aid retailer.

Amplifon, an Italian hearling aid distributor and client of both Demant and GN Hearing, has agreed to buy Australian firm Bay Audio for AUD 550m (DKK 2.6bn).

The purchase fits in perfectly with the company's growth model and acquisition strategy, Amplifon writes in a press release, also reporting that it expects synergies of around AUD 8m in terms of EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization) in 2023.
