Novo Nordisk has signed a letter of intent with state-owned Bio Farma in Indonesia to contract the firm to package insulin, according to Reuters.

A spokesperson from Novo Nordisk explains to the news agency that the agreement only concerns the packaging of insulin for Indonesia - not production, which takes place in Denmark and the US.

Neither the value of the deal nor the start date has yet been determined, Soleh Ayubi, vice president of Bio Farma, told Reuters.

Novo Nordisk will provide its ”expertise in diabetes treatment and insulin production” as part of the deal.
