Novo Nordisk can mitigate production consequences from potential gas stop

Russia has threatened to cut off gas supplies to Europe, which would affect the Danish pharmaceutical firm’s ability to make essential medicines were it not for its extensive contingency plans.

If Russia carries out its threat of shutting off gas flows to the west, Danish pharmaceutical firm Novo Nordisk has a backup plan at the ready.

Mitigating the consequences of a gas shortage would be important for the company’s continued production of essential medicines, said Novo Nordisk’s chief financial officer, Karsten Munk Knudsen, at a teleconference in connection with the firm’s recently published H1 report.
